10 Days Travel Itinerary in Tokyo , Japan

Hello guys , I am going to share about my travel itinerary in Tokyo includes attractions , accommodation, expenses, transportation in this post. As you will see later, my itinerary is not the hectic type that packed with attractions to visit everyday. My itinerary is quite laid back and chill because  I don’t like rushing off from one attraction to another. It takes time to absorb the places you visit. So, SLOW DOWN.

Day 1 – Day 3 – Takayama & Shirakawago

We arrived Haneda airport at dawn and went to Takayama in the morning. It is a beautiful prefecture which is 5 hours drive away from Tokyo. It is one of the must visit places during winter !We spent 3 days 2 nights in Takayama and Shirakawago exploring the old towns that surrounded by mountains and rivers. I have blogged about the full itinerary in Takayama on my previous post. For more detailed information, you’re welcome to read: 3 Days Takayama and Shirakawago Trip from Tokyo

Day 4 – Shopping districts

We arrived in Tokyo on the night before and checked in to our Airbnb in Shibuya district. So, in the morning we explored the shopping areas in Tokyo like shibuya, harajuku, shinjuku, Ginza and so on. You definitely need to visit Shinjuku as it is one of the largest shopping and entertainment districts in Tokyo. There are a lot of department stores that you can find luxurious designer brands like Isetan, Keio department store, OIOI, Lumine EST, Lumine 2  and so on( I will suggest you to stay nearby shopping districts as they are merrier and lively especially at night). Shibuya and Harajuku are the centre of youth fashion, you will find trendy clothing brand here includes fast fashion retailer like Forever 21, Zara, Berska and other local brands, Shibuya 109 is known as teenager’s shopping heaven where most of the Japanese girl shop for clothes as the prices are affordable and trendy.

Day 5 – Tokyo tower, Nezu Shrine

We departed at around 11 morning. it took 30 mins from Shibuya station by subway (fare around rm7-12) . It is actually a communication and observation tower that looks like Eiffel Tower. We went to Shiba park to have the complete view of Tokyo Tower. Then, it took around 35 mins from Tokyo Tower to Nezu Shrine by subway (Rm7-9). Nezu Shrine located quite far from the centre of Tokyo. However, it is worth the visit. If you prefer to take nice photos of the view, visit my previous post : Top 8 Instagrammable Spots in Tokyo.

Day 7 – Tsukiji Fish Market, Meiji Shrine

Tsukiji fish market is a great place to visit if you love fresh fish or sushi. it takes 30 mins subway ride (Rm8-12) from Shibuya station. Unfortunately, the iconic Tsukiji inner market where we can witness Tuna fish auction was closed last year and moved to eastern Tokyo named Toyosu Fish Market. It was considered as the biggest fish and seafood market in the world. However, despite the closing of inner market, the outer market is still going on with various restaurants, knife shops, stores that selling all sorts of ingredients and so on. There are some must try snacks like tamago (sweet egg omelet) on a stick, Daifuku (Mochi with strawberry), giant raw oysters and so on.

Day 9 – Tokyo Disneysea

We got a 2DayPass for 2Parks. The ticket costs around RM481 per adult. We stayed around Maihama, Urayasu area for 2 nights as it is where Disneyland and Disneysea located. The hotel ( Tokyo Bay Tokyu Hotel) we stayed offers free shuttle bus service to and fro Disneyland and Disneysea yet Urayasu train station. Thus, it is convenient for travellers. We departed from Tokyo to Maihama in the morning and it took around an hour to arrive. We checked in instantly at around 1pm and went to Disneysea. Honestly, we have not enough time to see everything in the park as it gets dark at around 5 evening because of winter. it was not really convenient to stroll along at night.

We hunt for popcorn bucket because we have a collection of popcorn bucket from all Disneylands that we’ve been.
